Cancer Registry
The Cancer Registry is an integral part of Parkview’s comprehensive cancer program. The cancer registry staff collects and analyzes cancer data regarding patients who have been diagnosed and/or treated at Parkview Hospital. This body of data is a critical element in the evaluation of cancer care and contributes to staging (determining the scope and location of cancer), treatment planning and continuity of care for our cancer patients.
The Cancer Registry is also responsible for maintaining lifetime follow-up on all analytic patients (those who were diagnosed and received at least a first course of treatment through the facility).
The registry is an important component in maintaining the cancer program’s accreditation for the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer. Parkview’s Cancer Registry makes a significant contribution, both locally and nationally, as data is reported to the Indiana State Department of Health and to the National Cancer Data Base.
