Screening mammography
Did you know that 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime? And 8 out of 9 diagnosed women have no family history of breast cancer?
Screening mammography is the best way to detect breast cancer early, when it’s the most easily treated.
Screening mammograms are routine screenings, taken when there are no symptoms of breast cancer. This simple, quick, noninvasive test is used for detection of breast changes and breast cancer. The procedure uses low-dose digital imaging to safely create images of the breast tissue. Radiologists read the images to determine whether cancer is present. Parkview Packnett Family Cancer Institute Mammography follows the American College of Radiology (ACR) Mammography Screening Guidelines and recommends annual screening at age 40 and above.
