Jenna Garcia

Jenna Garcia, EAP Mananger

Jenna Garcia, MA, LMFT, ATR is the manager of the Parkview Employee Assistance Program. She earned her master's degree from Loyola Marymount University and is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Registered Art Therapist. Jenna’s approach is rooted in reflective practice, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and attachment theory. She has a passion for supporting moms and babies and also works with children (ages 0+), adults, and families. Jenna has advanced training in perinatal mental health and child-parent psychotherapy (CPP).


Ken Shields

Ken Shields, EAP Specialist

Ken Shields, MA, LMHC, LCAC, earned his Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in marriage and family from Wheaton College and has over 20 years of counseling and supervision experience in multiple settings. Ken’s approach is strengths-based, trauma-informed, solution-focused and holistic in nature. Ken’s clinical focus has been varied with teens, adults, and couples in areas of depression, anxiety, trauma, navigating life challenges such as health or employment changes and substance abuse counseling. His work settings have included community mental health, inpatient treatment, addiction treatment facility, as well as providing mental health counseling within a group medical practice. Ken is also a Tier 3 Star Behavioral Health Provider for military personnel and their families.


Ellen Schlatter

Ellen Schlatter, EAP Specialist

Ellen Schlatter, MS, LMHC, CAGCS, earned her Master of Science Degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of St. Francis. She has over 28 years of experience in mental health counseling in outpatient and residential settings and utilizes a trauma-informed and client-centered approach. She believes each person can manage life’s difficulties, find contentment and reach their highest potential, with a focus on self-care. Her counseling experience includes a variety of areas, including depression, anxiety, trauma, marital and relationships, and she can offer a Christian perspective. She is a certified grief counselor. Ellen enjoys working with children, teens, and adults.


Jeri Forrest

Jeri Forest, EAP Specialist

Jeri Forrest, MSSA, LCSW, has a master’s degree of science in social administration with a concentration in youth and families from Case Western Reserve University and is a licensed clinical social worker. Jeri has nearly 19 years of experience working in the mental health field in outpatient, inpatient, residential and school settings. She has experience working with anxiety, depression, family relationships, stress management, grief/loss and trauma. Jeri’s approach to therapy is strengths-based and includes attuning to an individual’s emotional intelligence by utilizing brain-based tools and attachment theory to explore the individual person as a whole. Jeri is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). She enjoys working with children, teenagers, young adults, adults, geriatrics and families.


Shelly Edwards

Shelly Edwards, EAP Specialist

Shelly Edwards, MSEd, LMFT, has a master’s degree in education from Indiana University, Bloomington, Ind., and is a licensed marriage and family therapist who has provided counseling services since 2000. Shelly has made numerous educational presentations to local civic clubs and schools and at health fairs. Her area of expertise is working with young adults, and she currently provides counseling services to college students.


Julie Shearer

Julie Shearer, EAP Specialist

Julie Shearer, MA, LMHC, LCAC, MAC, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in counseling and sociology and a Master of Science degree in clinical mental health counseling from Grace College. Her counseling approach is strengths-based and solution-focused. She has counseling experience in a variety of areas, including depression, anxiety, trauma, addictions, relationship issues and spiritual concerns. Julie enjoys working with all ages and has training in play therapy and sand tray therapy specialties. She is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Rapid Resolution Therapy (RRT). Julie is passionate about walking alongside others to pursue holistic wellness in an empowering and compassionate manner.


Brendon Lengacher, EAP Specialist

Brendon Lengacher, MA, LHMC, earned both his Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grace College and Theological Seminary. He is a licensed mental health counselor and has a decade of experience working with children, teenagers, and adults in a variety of outpatient, residential and school settings. Brendon takes a holistic and client-centered approach rooted in existential therapy, along with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). His areas of clinical focus include anxiety, depression, trauma, marriage and couples work, grief and life transitions. His specialties include ADHD, men’s issues, suicide prevention and can offer a biblical-based approach if desired. Brendon enjoys working with children, teenagers, adults, families and couples.


Adam Gayer, Student Assistance Program Counselor

Adam Gayer, MS, LHMCA, earned both his Bachelor of Science in Art-Therapy/Psychology and Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from University of Saint Francis. Adam is an associate licensed mental health counselor and has over eight years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric within Parkview Health. Separately, Adam sees clients at a private practice. He uses an integrative, client-centered and collaborative approach, incorporating cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and motivational interviewing techniques. Adam has training and experience helping individuals with grief/loss, major depressive and generalized anxiety disorders, career counseling, life adjustments, and ADHD management. He enjoys working with children, teenagers, young adults, adults, and families.


Corry Hawkins, EAP Specialist

Corry Hawkins, LCSW, earned her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Akron in 2015. She has provided therapy for almost 10 years in a variety of settings, including schools, private practice, summer camps and community mental health. Corry has experience working with adults, teens and children who struggle with life changes, stress, anger, depression, anxiety, trauma and relationships. She also provides support to families of young children who need help navigating parenting, childhood behaviors, attachment and emotional regulation. Corry is passionate about helping others find healing and achieve their goals through connection and self-discovery. Her approach to therapy is strengths-based and trauma-informed. Corry currently works with all ages but has a particular expertise in working with children and families.


Julie Shearer

Jana Vastbinder, Student Assistance Program Counselor

Jana Vastbinder, MA, LMHC, has a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Grace College and has over ten years experience in hospital, church, and community mental health settings. She has experience working with all ages and with a variety of concerns including grief and loss, anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, marriage/relationship issues, and stage of life adjustments. Jana uses a client-centered approach and is passionate about coming alongside others, empowering and encouraging, and helping her clients gain new perspective and tools to confront life’s challenges.
