Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women. You may have risk factors for developing heart disease such as family history or age that you cannot change. The good news is that you can still impact your heart health by making lifestyle choices that help prevent heart disease.

  • Don’t smoke
  • Get regular exercise
  • Eat a heart-healthy diet
  • Maintain a healthy weight
  • Get regular health screenings such as blood pressure and cholesterol levels
  • Avoid stress
