In early April, Tom Schermerhorn became extremely ill. After he deteriorated significantly, his wife, DeeDee, took him to the Emergency Room at Parkview Noble Hospital. A short time later, Tom was transferred to Parkview Regional Medical Center, where he learned he’d tested positive for COVID-19. He was placed on a ventilator for more than a week, and awoke to widespread community support and a wealth of gratitude for his care team. We organized a video chat with Tom and DeeDee to discuss his journey and recovery, and – surprise! – enjoy a reunion with some of his biggest fans.
