Parkview Health – Magnet® recognized

Parkview Health and each of its hospitals are among the nation’s elite, recognized as Magnet® destinations by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program. This recognition identifies hospitals and health systems that meet and exceed demanding standards for nursing excellence. To achieve Magnet recognition, organizations must pass a rigorous and lengthy review process that demands widespread participation from care providers and co-workers at each hospital. The process includes an electronic application, written patient care documentation, on-site visits to each hospital and a review by the Commission on Magnet Recognition.

All nine of the Parkview Health hospitals that earned initial Magnet accreditation in 2017 have earned re-accreditation this year (2022). Those hospitals are:

  • Parkview Huntington Hospital
  • Parkview LaGrange Hospital
  • Parkview Noble Hospital
  • Parkview Ortho Hospital
  • Parkview Regional Medical Center and Affiliates (which includes Parkview Regional Medical Center, Parkview Hospital Randallia and Parkview Behavioral Health Institute)
  • Parkview Wabash Hospital
  • Parkview Whitley Hospital

As the newest member of the health system, Parkview DeKalb Hospital will be eligible for Magnet recognition during the next accreditation cycle.

Nurses at Parkview Health are committed to providing excellent care to every person, every day. Our nurses are encouraged to reach their maximum potential through education and development.

Parkview Nurse Residency Program earned accreditation from the Practice Transition Accreditation Program® (PTAP) in May of 2020, which sets the global standard for residency programs that transition registered nurses into new practice settings. Our residency program supports registered nurses who recently graduated and are still in their first year of practice. The 16-month program helps accelerate nurses’ development, create an enhanced patient experience, and improve safety and quality.

PTAP accreditation is granted by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), which also grants Magnet® recognition and ensures rigorous standards for nursing excellence. Parkview Health earned Magnet recognition in 2017.
